(a) Purpose and Intent. The purpose of this rule is to implement the provisions of Texas Government Code §2171.1045.
(b) Department vehicles are available for conducting official department business. Vehicles may be assigned to specific field employees or available for checkout for use by employees conducting official department business.
(c) The department may assign a vehicle to an individual administrative or executive employee on a regular or everyday basis only if the department determines that the assignment is critical to the needs and mission of the department. The determination shall be documented and maintained in writing.
