(a) The mediator must possess the qualifications required under Civil Practice and Remedies Code, §154.052, be subject to the standards and duties prescribed by Civil Practice and Remedies Code, §154.053, and have the qualified immunity prescribed by Civil Practice and Remedies Code, §154.055, if applicable.
(b) The parties must decide whether, and to what extent, knowledge of the subject matter and experience in mediation would be advisable for the mediator.
(c) The parties must obtain from the prospective mediator the ethical standards that will govern the mediation.
